Wine Club is now Beelman’s Speakeasy Club!

Dear Eastern Resident,   Eastern Wine Club is now Beelman’s Speakeasy Club! Same club but new name!    The next gathering is scheduled for May 25th at 6:30 PM.  We hope you can make it!   Below are some fun facts about Claude Beelman and Eastern:   Claude Beelman was an American architect who was born in Los Angeles in 1883 and passed away in 1963. He was best known for his work in the Art Deco style, particularly in the design of high-rise buildings. One of his most famous projects is the Eastern Columbia Building.   The Eastern Columbia Building is a 13-story Art Deco tower that was completed in 1930. The building was originally built as a department store for the Eastern Outfitting Company. The building features a distinctive turquoise terra cotta façade with gold leaf accents, and a clock tower that stands at 15 stories tall. The interior of the building is also decorated in the Art Deco style with terazo floors and intricate geometric designs.   The Eastern Columbia Building is considered one of Beelman’s most iconic works, and is widely regarded as one of the finest examples of Art Deco architecture in the United States. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985, and was converted into luxury condominiums in 2005.   There you have it! Beelman’s Speakeasy Club.
